Repair works on the Polish side will last until November 2027
Starting September 20, 2026, the Shehyni – Medyka border crossing will temporarily stop accepting buses traveling from Ukraine to Poland. The restrictions will remain in effect until approximately November 2027 due to extensive repairs on the Polish side This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Restoration of Ukraine.
Repair works on the Polish side of the border checkpoint will begin on September 20, 2026. Passenger transport departing from Ukrainian territory will be redirected to alternative border crossings.
Alternative Routes for Buses
Drivers and carriers are advised to use neighboring border crossing points. The designated alternatives include Smilnytsia – Krościenko, Nyzhankovychi – Malhowice, and Krakovets – Korczowa.
These measures are necessary to maintain passenger transportation stability and adhere to approved schedules. The changes will allow regular trips to continue despite restrictions at the primary location.
System Registration Rules
Regular services must be registered in the electronic queue for departure from Ukraine 30 days in advance. For irregular trips, this period is set at 3 days before the expected border crossing date.
Carriers are urged to factor in these changes when planning routes to Poland starting September 20. The new traffic arrangement will be in place for over a year.
