Ukrainian defence industry can significantly boost air defence production with funding
Minister of Defence of Ukraine Yevhen Khmara held a meeting with Minister of Defence of Slovenia Valentin Hajdinjak. The parties discussed the battlefield situation, defence forces' needs, and prospects for joint projects. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian delegation informed their Slovenian counterparts about the current operations of the Defence Forces and threats posed by Russia. A key challenge remains the intensification of strikes on civilian infrastructure using ballistic missiles and strike drones.
To counter these threats, Ukraine is developing technological solutions and asymmetrical actions. At the same time, critical needs remain for additional financing and air defence equipment deliveries.
Defence manufacturing and long-range capabilities
With additional financial support from partners, the Ukrainian defence industry can multiply its production of necessary equipment. The parties also discussed measures to regain the initiative on the battlefield, including expanding middle strike and deep strike capabilities.
The Ukrainian side presented specific areas of defence cooperation to Slovenia. These include establishing joint ventures, participating in the Drone Deal project, testing technologies in combat conditions, and sharing expertise in adapting to modern warfare.
Cognitive domain security and bilateral support
Special attention was paid to cooperation in the cognitive domain. Russia is intensifying information and psychological operations against Ukraine and European states, requiring coordinated action from partners.
The Ukrainian Defence Minister thanked Slovenia for its support, including contributions through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism, and for its willingness to deepen defence partnership.
