Carpathian macro-region presents investment portfolio exceeding one billion euros

Over fifty agreements are being prepared for signing at the international forum

The Carpathian macro-region is presenting itself for the first time as a single market with a unified investment portfolio. More than 50 agreements worth over one billion euros have been prepared for signing at the Carpathian Integration Initiative international economic forum. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Approximately half of the portfolio focuses on the energy sector, which could become one of the region’s main contributions to Europe. Key areas include solar and wind energy, energy storage, new interconnectors, and large underground gas storage facilities.

A proposal has also been put forward to establish a Carpathian wind energy cluster with a capacity of 1.5 gigawatts.

The Carpathians can become an energy supplier for the European Union rather than just a transit region, directly supporting the European goal of energy independence from russia.
