Polish President Karol Nawrocki calls Russian hybrid war preparation for 1939 scenario

Hybrid tactics echo the aggression of the previous century

President of Poland Karol Nawrocki stated that the ongoing Russian hybrid warfare could be preparation for events similar to 1939. He made this remark during a meeting with residents of Wlodawa in the Lublin Voivodeship on the 87th anniversary of the Soviet aggression against Poland. This was reported by Ukrinform citing PAP, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The head of the Polish state commented on the recent incident involving a drone near the state borders. According to him, every new hostile action poses a challenge to the country’s leadership, and officials are in constant contact with military generals.

Imperial policies of Moscow

The politician recalled the historical experience of confrontation, noting the unchanging aggressive nature of the neighboring state regardless of its governance system. In modern realities, imperial ambitions are once again disguised under the slogans of spreading values.

Between the first and second world wars, society already faced similar elements of disinformation and societal division. The adversary’s current tactical steps are capable of escalating further.

Need for national unity

Hybrid operations serve as preparation for what happened decades ago rather than an alternative to conventional warfare. The official urged political forces to seek compromises on security matters and act jointly.

Achieving agreement within the country is a task no less complex than political struggle. Effective defense requires the consolidation of the entire society against mounting threats.

Importance of international alliances

The country’s eastern border simultaneously serves as the eastern frontier of Europe. It is essential to rely on strong partnerships within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and with the United States.

Earlier, Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned of expected Russian attacks near the border. Intelligence assessments indicate that Russia may resort to accidental drone and missile strikes against countries supporting Ukraine.
