Ukraine, together with partners from the Carpathian region, formed and presented an investment portfolio comprising nearly 100 projects worth over €40 billion during the “Carpathian Eight” summit, the Cabinet of Ministers announced on September 19. This was reported by Radio Liberty and the PromPolitInform portal.
“Of these, 55 are Ukrainian projects, while more than 40 come from international partners. Over the course of the two-day event, investment, financial, and trade agreements worth more than €1 billion were reached. Nearly half of these are in the energy sector, with a significant portion covering industrial production, transport, and logistics,” the government stated.
According to government estimates, a total of 1,400 participants from 25 countries—including around 500 companies—took part in the event.
Minister of Economy and Environment Oleksandr Kravchenko noted that the €40 billion worth of projects represents a long-term plan aimed at Ukraine’s reconstruction.
The forum’s unified investment portfolio includes projects across eight sectors: energy; industry and manufacturing; innovative technologies; transport and logistics; infrastructure and real estate; the agri-food sector; healthcare; and construction materials. The Cabinet of Ministers adds that on the second day of the forum, investment agencies from the C8 countries also established the Carpathian Investment Coalition to jointly develop these projects and attract international capital to them.
The Carpathian Summit is taking place from September 18 to 20 in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Following the first day of the event, the participating countries signed a declaration on cooperation within the Carpathian region.
