Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to meet with US President Donald Trump in New York on September 22. A source within the Office of the President confirmed this to Suspilne, as reported by the PromPolitInform portal.
Diplomatic efforts to end the war will be a key topic of the negotiations. Specifically, Zelenskyy and Trump are expected to discuss the outcomes of previous meetings held by the Ukrainian side with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
The presidents will pay special attention to the “winter support” package for Ukraine, particularly the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense with additional systems.
Furthermore, Zelenskyy and Trump are set to discuss the possibility of licensing the production of Patriot system missiles directly within Ukraine.
