Tender procurement saved over UAH 611 million on winter military supplies
The Defence Procurement Agency DOT of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has contracted 99.5% of the required winter clothing and gear for military personnel for the 2026–2027 season. The procurement covers the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The procurement cycle began in late 2025. The early start allowed the agency to announce tenders for key winter supply items and begin deliveries before the onset of cold weather.
All purchases were conducted through competitive auctions, saving more than UAH 611 million in state funds. The 99.5% figure reflects the contracted volume, with deliveries currently underway according to schedule.
Winter military supply categories
For the Armed Forces of Ukraine, contracts were signed covering 24 categories of winter clothing and equipment, and 8 categories for the State Special Transport Service. The list and order volumes may be adjusted based on operational military needs.
“Equipment must arrive on time, be of high quality, and come at a reasonable price,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Mstyslav Banik.
Special kits and female uniforms
Key items include specialized winter and camouflage suits, high boots, wind- and waterproof jackets and trousers, winter hats, neck gaiters, gloves, and cold-weather underwear.
Certain items are procured in tailored models for female service members, with designs and sizing charts developed specifically for female anthropometry.
