Kyiv community has provided over 52,000 UAVs to military forces throughout 2026
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko visited military forces in the Kharkiv direction and personally delivered 5,800 unmanned aerial vehicles from the Kyiv community. The technical assistance was received by the Third Army Corps of the 'Centr' Forces Grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Сергій Новіков) citing Vitali Klitschko, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The supplied drones have various technical capabilities intended for battlefield missions. In total, since the beginning of this year, the capital’s community has supplied frontline brigades with over 52,000 UAVs alongside other essential equipment.
Additional defence funding from city budget
Kyiv municipal authorities continue to scale up financial aid for the defense sector. During a City Council session, local deputies approved an additional allocation of 1.6 billion UAH from the municipal budget to support defense and security forces.
These budget amendments were passed on 1 October following an initiative by the mayor. Furthermore, Klitschko instructed city officials to explore options for expanding funding under the ‘Kyiv Defender’ municipal program.
Support for mobilized residents and veterans
The Kyiv City Council also approved an extra 375 million UAH aimed at direct payments for mobilized residents joining the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In 2025, Kyiv allocated over 12 billion UAH from its municipal budget to support soldiers, veteran programs, and military families.
