The procedure for replacing damaged clothing property is regulated by Ministry order number 232
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has published clarifications on the procedure for replacing damaged winter uniforms and footwear for service members. To receive new property, it is necessary to submit a report to the commander and provide the item for inspection. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Clothing supply for military personnel is regulated by Ministry of Defence Order No. 232 dated April 29, 2016. According to this document, the replacement of damaged jackets, trousers, or footwear is carried out based on a service member’s report and the commander’s decision.
Property inspection upon receipt
If defects are discovered during the issuance of clothing property, warehouse personnel must be notified immediately. Service members are advised to carefully check size compliance, fastener operability, integrity of seams, and the condition of the soles.
An incorrectly selected size must be replaced before the actual use of the item begins. Independent complex repairs or removal of markings prior to inspection are prohibited.
Procedure for submitting a report
For fighters within military groups conducting combat operations, submitting a report with a petition from the unit commander is mandatory. The final decision on issuing a new set is made by the military unit commander.
The application must clearly state the name of the item, the approximate date of receipt, and the nature of the identified damage. Photographs of defects may be attached to the document, but they do not replace the physical inspection of the item.
Wear periods and repair
A two-year wear period is established for most elements of the winter kit, while gloves must be replaced annually. In active combat zones, wear periods do not apply, and items are used until completely worn out.
Minor damages are repaired by non-staff unit shoemakers or in repair workshops of military units. If protective properties cannot be restored, a commission inspection is organized to draw up replacement documents.
Actions in case of refusal
If there are signs of manufacturing defects, the soldier does not need to contact the manufacturer independently. Interaction with suppliers is carried out by authorized bodies of the defence department.
If the issue of replacing unusable property is not resolved at the unit level, a written report can be submitted or the Ministry of Defence hotline at 1512 can be contacted.
