Retail trade turnover in Ukraine for the first nine months of the year rose by 8 percent
The State Statistics Service of Ukraine has updated data on retail trade, transport sector activities, and tourism infrastructure for the period of January–September 2026. The report covers changes in transport volumes, fuel consumption, and the capacity of accommodation facilities. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
In the period from January to September 2026, retail trade turnover in Ukraine demonstrated growth of 8.0% compared to the same period last year. In September 2026, this figure increased by 2.7% relative to September 2025.
Transport sector performance
Passenger transport services were utilized by 1539.9 million people during the first nine months of 2026, which is 5.7% less than the results for 2025. Meanwhile, freight transport increased by 1.0%, reaching 241.9 million tons of cargo during the analyzed period.
Accommodation infrastructure data
As of August 2026, 625 collective accommodation facilities remained operational in Ukraine, matching the number of objects reported in July. The total capacity of these facilities reached 72.2 thousand spots, reflecting a decrease of 2.1% compared to the previous month.
