Implementation of digital accounting reduced the supply cycle fourfold
Over two years of operation, more than 1.35 million tons of food have been delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service (SSTS) via the DOT-Chain Food digital ecosystem. The system enabled the transition to electronic document management and optimized procurement processes. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
DOT-Chain Food functions as a platform for interaction between the Defence Procurement Agency, suppliers, and military units. Utilizing this platform has enabled the automation of document processing, with over 45,000 documents generated weekly.
Optimization of military logistics
According to Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Mstyslav Banik, the transition to digital templates and automated claims processing contributes to reducing the administrative burden on personnel. This facilitates the gradual elimination of outdated paper-based procedures within the defence supply system.
Artem Romanyukov, Acting Director of the DOT Defence Procurement Agency, noted that the time required for processing, verifying, and signing delivery notes has been reduced from hours to 15 minutes. In total, 1.9 million such delivery notes confirming the receipt of food by the military have already been processed in the system.
Structure of food supplies
The largest volumes of supplies through DOT-Chain Food consisted of vegetables, with 335.8 thousand tons delivered. Meat and meat products amounted to 227.3 thousand tons, while bakery products and flour reached 139.8 thousand tons. The supply range also includes fruits, berries, nuts, and cereals in significant volumes.
Military units generate weekly requests from a catalogue containing over 300 unique items. The process includes the automatic creation of delivery notes prior to shipment and the formation of certificates of work performed, which serve as the basis for subsequent settlements with suppliers.
Automation has also affected claim management. In the event of a breach of contract terms, the system automatically prepares a report on discrepancies and calculates the amount of penalties. The military unit representative simply verifies the report and validates it with their signature.
