Europe Must Be Involved in Decisions to End the War — Zelenskyy

A format involving Ukraine, the US, and Russia is expected in November

Ukraine expects trilateral negotiations involving Ukrainian, American, and Russian delegations to take place in November of this year. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the need to involve European countries in the diplomatic process and the decision-making to end military hostilities. This was reported by Ukrinform, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The Head of State stressed in his evening address that no European country should remain on the sidelines when fateful decisions are made. Kyiv insists on the full participation of European partners in all diplomatic initiatives to achieve a stable settlement.

In the coming weeks, the Ukrainian side plans to hold a series of new contacts with influential European states. At the same time, coordination of actions with the United States of America and other allies will continue to prepare for future meetings.

«For November, we expect a trilateral format. Ukrainian, American, Russian representatives. It is important that Europe also participates in all diplomatic movements», — Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

Separately, the country’s leader focused attention on the need to increase pressure on Moscow to achieve a fair settlement. According to him, sustainable peace is impossible without effective force and a firm position of the international community.

«We must protect life, we must bring peace closer. We need to shape policy regarding Russia in such a way that they lose interest in escalation steps. There is no peace without pressure. Peace does not come without strength», — Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

Earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha during a joint press conference in Helsinki with the heads of foreign policy departments of Finland Elina Valtonen and Norway Espen Barth Eide stated the need for a personal meeting between the President of Ukraine and the Russian leadership to discuss the most sensitive topics.
