State Budget 2027 allocates UAH 540 billion for social expenditures

The draft state budget for 2027 plans to allocate UAH 540 billion for the social sector. This figure exceeds the current year's indicators by UAH 72 billion. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Verkhovna Rada.

The corresponding financial indicators provide for an increase in funding for pension payments, various types of social assistance, and subsidies. According to Member of Parliament Iryna Borzova, the document confirms the state’s intention to provide stable support to vulnerable categories of the population despite the conditions of martial law.

Distribution of budget expenditures for 2027

Pension provision for citizens, who number about 10 million people in Ukraine, will be funded in the amount of UAH 292 billion next year. The MP also announced that pension indexation is planned for March 2027.

Over UAH 45 billion is earmarked in the draft for providing assistance to internally displaced persons. A separate focus area will be supporting people with disabilities, for whose needs UAH 42 billion will be allocated.

Support for families and children

Significant attention in the budget is paid to helping families with children, in particular large and low-income families, for which over UAH 38 billion is reserved. In addition to direct financial assistance, the amounts of payments for children with disabilities and persons with disabilities since childhood will increase significantly, by almost double, in 2027.

The state also continues to fund well-known social programs, including the “Baby Package” and “Schoolchild Package.” For the organization of health improvement and recreation for children who require special attention, UAH 1.8 billion has been provided in the country’s main budget.
