Pension Fund of Ukraine paid 93 billion hryvnias in social assistance in October

Pension accruals accounted for the largest share of expenditures

In October, the Pension Fund of Ukraine completed the financing of social payments, allocating 93 billion hryvnias for these needs. The funds cover pensions, subsidies, and sick leave payments. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Pension Fund of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

Pension payments, which reached 75.1 billion hryvnias, accounted for the bulk of the budget intended to support citizens. The remaining expenses were distributed among other types of social assistance and benefits.

Structure of social expenditures

The Pension Fund allocated 1.4 billion hryvnias for the financing of housing subsidies and benefits. Insurance payments for the reporting period amounted to 3.4 billion hryvnias, with a significant portion of this sum — 2.1 billion hryvnias — directed towards sick leave payments.

Financing of social aid and other payments was recorded as a separate item in the report, totaling 13.1 billion hryvnias. All these funds were transferred to recipients by the end of October.

Start of payments for November

The process of financing pensions for the following month began on November 1. The first funds amounting to 0.6 billion hryvnias have already been allocated for pension payments through JSC Ukrposhta.
