The «Engineers of Aggression» list includes ten organizations and thirteen developers from Russia
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has disclosed data on ten scientific institutions and thirteen scientists from Russia working for the aggressor's military-industrial complex. The information was published as part of the «Engineers of Aggression» section on the War&Sanctions portal. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
Ukrainian intelligence officials added information about institutions and specialists directly involved in creating military and dual-use technologies. Specifically, this concerns universities and research centers that prepare personnel for the Russian army’s needs, conduct research, and collaborate with manufacturers of missile and drone weapons.
The updated list includes «Skoltech», which specializes in drone coatings and manufacturing technologies for aircraft engine components. Also included is the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, where computer vision systems are being developed in partnership with the «High-Precision Complexes» holding of the «Rostec» state corporation.
Scientific cooperation and development
Among the institutions under GUR observation is the Chuvash State University named after I. N. Ulyanov. This institution trains engineers for the «VNIIR-Progress» enterprise, which produces «Kometa» navigation modules for Russian missiles and drones, and also conducts joint research and innovation projects.
Special attention is paid to 13 new specialists working on onboard control systems, machine vision, and robotic complexes. Intelligence sources note that some of these scientists continue to publish in international scientific journals and participate in relevant foreign committees.
Consequences for the defense sector
The data and technologies obtained through such activities are directly integrated into Russian weapons. This applies to the production of components for army aviation propellers, integrated circuits for cruise missiles, and guidance systems for strike drones.
Ukrainian experts are calling on the global scientific community to completely stop cooperation with Russian colleagues and institutions. Any person in Russia involved in the development of military technologies is designated as a legitimate target for international sanctions.
