The training programme consists of 11 lessons on IT system deployment
The Armia+ mobile application has launched a training course titled Digital Project Management for the Defence Forces. The programme is designed for service members managing IT initiatives or deploying digital solutions within their units. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The training curriculum focuses on practical aspects of team coordination and planning the introduction of digital tools into military units. Course materials target both tech project managers and specialists responsible for integrating ready-made systems directly within their military units.
The programme comprises 11 lessons covering the core stages of a project lifecycle. Participants learn how to define goals and identify the specific unit requirements that a digital solution must address. Special attention is paid to creating action plans, prioritising steps, and setting timelines for each milestone.
Team organisation and risk assessment
The course examines hiring appropriate specialists, assigning team roles, and establishing clear communication across stakeholders. Personnel learn to forecast resource needs and prepare mitigation strategies for personnel, time, or asset shortages during implementation.
A dedicated module addresses end-user onboarding. The course guides managers through communicating workflow changes to service members, structuring instructional sessions, and setting up help desk operations.
Quality monitoring and project partners
The syllabus covers monitoring delivery deadlines, system quality checks, and post-launch maintenance. It also highlights mechanisms for providing user support and updating software features based on operational feedback.
The initiative was developed by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine in partnership with CDTO Campus, East Europe Foundation, and the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO), with backing from the German Federal Ministry of Defence. The course is available in the Education section of Armia+, alongside existing modules on business and data analysis.
