Russian forces are preparing new attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the coming week, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal warned.
Power outage schedules may worsen following the latest enemy strike, as the generation deficit in the energy system remains significant. Moreover, Russia is preparing additional attacks. According to Korrespondent.net, Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal сообщил про це у своєму Telegram channel, as reported by the PromPolitInform portal.
“The situation in the energy sector remains very difficult. Unfortunately, there is a risk that outage schedules may worsen. This is linked to the latest strike and the fact that the generation deficit in the energy system is still significant. At the same time, Russians are preparing new attacks on the energy sector in the coming week,” the official stated.
He added that restoration works are ongoing across all regions. In Kyiv alone, more than 230 repair crews are currently working, with an additional 40 repair teams from Naftogaz joining the efforts.
“However, local authorities must provide people with clear information about when heating supply will be restored in specific locations. In buildings where heating cannot be restored in the near term, electricity must be available for at least 18 hours per day.
We are intensifying cooperation with all partners to obtain energy equipment. More than 30 countries are already providing support to help Ukraine get through this winter,” the statement said.
