On the night of February 16, 2026, Russian troops attacked with four anti-ship missiles Zircon from the TOT of the AR of Crimea, a ballistic missile Iskander-M from the Bryansk region, guided by an aircraft missile Kh-31P from the TOT of Zaporizhzhya region, as well as 62 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerber, Italmas type and other types of drones, about 40 of them are “shaheds.”
This was reported by the press center of the Air Force Command, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
As noted, the air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, EW units and unmanned systems, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
How did the air defense work?
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, two anti-ship missiles Zircon and 52 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerber, Italmas and other types were shot down/suppressed by the air defense.
A hit of one missile and 9 attack UAVs at 8 locations was recorded, as well as a fall of downed (debris) at 2 locations. Information on three enemy missiles is being clarified.
“The attack continues, in the airspace of several enemy UAVs. Follow the safety rules!,” – emphasize the Air Force.
