The introduction of the electronic receipt will be a convenient evolution of a familiar tool for buyers and sellers.
Ukraine has launched the єChek system—an electronic receipt that will be automatically saved directly in your banking app for Ukrainians and businesses. This was reported by Dengi.ua, citing the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation. PromPolitInform reports.
It is noted that this is a convenient evolution of a familiar tool, as no more paper is needed and there will be no more faded ribbons in your wallet. Your receipt is now where your finances are—on your smartphone.
The Ministry explained what this means for buyers:
Paper receipts are easily lost, which creates inconvenience when returning an item. With a receipt, this problem disappears. Everything in your bank: Your receipt appears where you view your expenses—in the bank app.
No extra steps: You don’t need to download, install, or register with third-party store apps or websites.
Complete freedom of choice: You choose your receipt format—digital or paper. The service works alongside traditional receipts and is completely voluntary.
Confidentiality: Only you see your receipt in your own app.
It’s also worth noting that this is beneficial for businesses because:
In 2025 alone, 9.49 billion receipts were generated in Ukraine. Every year, businesses spend approximately UAH 600 million on receipt paper alone.
Savings: Less paper means lower printing costs and fewer technical issues.
Simplicity: The cash register operates as usual, without any changes to processes—you only need to set it up according to the instructions.
Environmentally friendly: Thermal paper used for receipts contains BPA and is not recycled like regular paper. Digital receipts solve this problem.
єChek doesn’t create a new system; it easily integrates into the one everyone already uses.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications, and Mass Media explained how to use єChek now, specifically:
The service is being introduced in stages. In the first phase, it is already available to customers of PrivatBank, FUIB, VST Bank, and Monobank. еCheks can be obtained at Aurora, Fora, and Auchan retail chains, as well as at Ukrnafta gas stations.
The full launch of the service is scheduled for the end of 2026.
The program is open to businesses that work with RRO/PRRO systems and accept cashless payments. Participation in the program is voluntary.
To activate the service, entrepreneurs can submit an application and set up a cash register following the instructions on the website: echeck.me.gov.ua/sellers
