In the UK, the first Ukrainian defense plant begins to operate – the production complex of Ukrspecsystems, specializing in the production of drones.
This was announced by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the UK, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
According to Zaluzhny, the launch of production in the UK has a deep strategic logic. This is not about transferring the “center of gravity from Ukraine,” but about expanding joint capabilities and creating a “second circuit of stability that guarantees the continuity of production.”
“We are leaving the center of engineering expertise in Ukraine, and we are integrating production into the British defense space. We are creating a new quality of partnership, when allies not only support each other, but also form a common industrial security base,” said Valery Zaluzhny.
He stressed that for Ukraine this project means stability and the possibility of long-term planning. For Great Britain, it means strengthening its own defense industry, access to technologies proven in modern warfare and creating new jobs.
“Ukraine is at war in the face of constant missile strikes, destruction of infrastructure and threats to production. And our engineers create solutions that are born directly from the experience of the front. They improve systems not based on the results of theoretical research, but on the results of real combat applications,” Zaluzhny emphasized.
Last autumn, Ukrspecsystems announced a £200 million investment project in East Anglia. The plan envisages the construction of a 11,000 m ² plant, as well as the creation of a test and training center.
The implementation of the project will create up to 500 jobs and internship programs in the region. The company also announced its intention to expand its presence in the UK over the next three years.
Ukrspecsystems was founded in 2014. The company is known primarily for the PD-2, Gekata and Shark series drones (Shark, Shark-M, Mini Shark), which are used for reconnaissance, surveillance and artillery correction.
