The Verkhovna Rada wants to introduce new sanctions for draft dodgers: what’s proposed

New potential restrictions are currently under discussion in parliament.

Additional sanctions are being considered for Ukrainians who evade military registration and mobilization. This was reported by Dengi.ua, citing a statement by MP Fedir Venislavsky, as reported by the portal PromPolitInform.

According to him, potential restrictive measures include freezing bank accounts and banning driving. However, these initiatives are still under discussion in the Verkhovna Rada.

“When a Ukrainian citizen fails to fulfill their constitutional duty, evades updating and updating their military registration data, fails to appear when summoned to the TCC, and there are no such negative consequences, this is definitely an unacceptable situation in a country at war. Therefore, this is one of the elements that, I believe, will also be addressed in the process of updating and updating legislation related to the fulfillment of the constitutional duty to defend the Fatherland. “I think this issue will be discussed, and based on the results of the discussion, we will see what decision the audience makes,” Fedor Venislavsky emphasized.

As a reminder, it was previously reported that, according to Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine is preparing a mobilization reform.

It was also reported that the Ministry of Defense, together with the Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, finalized the draft law on “Contracts 18-24.”
