Four countries have stopped supplying fuel to Ukraine

Ukraine has faced a partial fuel blockade due to the suspension or significant restriction of exports by several neighboring countries at once. This, BigKyiv informs, was stated on the air of the Media Center “Ukraine” by the director of the “A-95” Consulting Group and a well-known expert on the fuel market, Serhiy Kuyun. The PromPolitInform portal reports.

According to him, Hungary became the first country to announce the suspension of supplies due to the conflict around the “Druzhba” oil pipeline and the suspension of the transit of Russian oil.

Currently, the situation has worsened:

Poland suspended supplies for a week;

Romania has closed fuel exports;

Moldova has also stopped exports.

“Romania has closed exports, Moldova has closed exports. In other directions – a pause, it is not clear what will happen. There must be government intervention here. We need to talk to our partners. We have contracts, but they are not being fulfilled. Everyone is worried about whether they will have enough resources,” emphasized Serhiy Kuyun.

He explains that the reasons are both political (for example, in the case of Hungary, related to energy disputes and the Druzhba oil pipeline) and situational — due to restrictions on exports for domestic needs or logistical problems.

As Kuyun noted, this is why Ukraine is forced to look for alternative sources of supply in more distant markets — mainly by sea or from other European destinations.

Recall that due to the escalation in the Middle East, there was a stir in the country’s fuel market last week: there were queues at gas stations, prices increased by 6 UAH. Currently, there are no queues, but there have also been fewer cars on the streets, according to social networks.
