Zelensky and Romanian Prime Minister Discuss Defense Support and Cooperation in the Energy Sector

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolozhan discussed defense support and cooperation in the energy sector during their meeting. Zelensky reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports. The PromPolitInform portal reports.

The Head of State emphasized that strengthening air defense is a priority for Ukraine.

He also emphasized the importance of building an energy network between Ukraine and Romania. This network will help Ukraine in the face of a deficit caused by constant strikes by Russian troops on the energy sector, and in the event of a surplus, it will allow electricity to be transmitted to Romania.

The parties paid special attention to the issue of expanding checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Romanian border. In particular, they discussed work on an intergovernmental agreement on joint control at checkpoints.

Zelensky thanked Romania for military assistance and contributions to the PURL program, and personally to Bolozan for the meeting and support of Ukraine.

As reported, on Thursday, March 12, Zelensky arrived in Bucharest.

In Bucharest, the presidents of Ukraine and Romania signed a declaration on strategic partnership and a number of other documents.
