Defeat of the Russian fleet
During a full-scale war, Ukraine launched a series of attacks on Russian ships, primarily in the Black Sea. The Black Sea Fleet of Russia suffered the most. The attacks were carried out by missiles, sea drones and drones.
The most famous defeats of Russian ships:
- The flagship of the fleet – Moscow – was hit by Ukrainian Neptune missiles on April 13, 2022. After the explosions, the ship sank during towing. This was the largest loss of the Russian fleet since the Second World War.
- The large landing ship Saratov was destroyed in the port of Berdyansk in March 2022. Several more landing ships were then damaged.
- The landing ship Minsk was seriously damaged during a strike on a shipyard in Sevastopol in September 2023.
- The Rostov-on-Don submarine was damaged by the same attack in Sevastopol.
- The patrol ship “Sergey Kotov” was destroyed by sea drones in March 2024 near the Crimea.
