Despite the preliminary forecasts, on Wednesday, March 18, in all regions of Ukraine, schedules of capacity limitation (for industrial consumers) and schedules of hourly blackouts for the population were applied.
Emergency shutdowns have been introduced in some regions, the press service of the power system operator NPC Ukrenergo reported, the PromPolitInform portal informs.
“The reason for the restrictions is the consequences of previous Russian missile and drone attacks. As well as an increase in energy consumption due to the low efficiency of solar power plants and a decrease in air temperature,” the company explained.
Ukrenergo added that emergency blackouts will be canceled after stabilizing the situation in the power system
As reported, on the eve of Ukrenergo predicted that the schedules for casting light for the population on March 18 would not be applied, and the schedules for limiting the capacity for industrial consumers would be valid only from 16:00 to 21:00.
