In 2026, Russia plans to further recruit about 409,000 troops, which indicates its intention to continue aggression against Ukraine and build up forces at the front.
This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Alexander Syrsky,
informs the PromPolitInform portal.
According to him, with the improvement of weather conditions, there is an increase in enemy activity at the front. In this regard, Ukraine is strengthening preparations for a possible aggravation of the situation.
Syrsky said that he held a meeting at which they discussed key issues of engineering arrangement of defensive positions. Among the priorities are the strengthening of fortifications, the development of anti-drone protection and the preparation of settlements for defense.
The Commander-in-Chief noted that he had heard reports from military commanders, the leadership of the State Special Transport Service and the heads of regional military administrations. As a result of the discussion, problematic issues were identified, as well as specific solutions and the timing of their implementation.
“There are problematic issues – defined specific solutions and timing of their implementation. The quality and speed of this work depends not only on the stability of the defense, but also on the lives of our soldiers,” he said.
He also thanked the military, engineers and representatives of local authorities for their work on strengthening the defense of Ukraine.
