The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have stopped the activities of eight schemes for evading mobilization. The organizers of the deals were detained in several regions of the country. According to the PromPolitInform portal, thepublik.info informs.
According to law enforcement officers, for amounts ranging from 2 to 17.5 thousand dollars, the defendants offered conscripts to avoid conscription through forged documents or facilitated illegal travel abroad outside checkpoints.
In the Kyiv region, officials of the State Research and Design Institute of Urban Planning were exposed. The investigation established that the head of the institution signed orders on the appointment of conscripts to positions, and his first deputy and chief accountant were looking for candidates. It is noted that in fact these individuals did not work, but received a salary. Law enforcement officers also recorded statements by participants in the scheme in support of the Kremlin regime. All those involved were dismissed from their positions and reported on suspicion.
In the same region, a former Kyiv City State Administration official was detained, who employed conscripts for money at a municipal enterprise in order to obtain grounds to avoid mobilization. He was detained while receiving the funds.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, medical workers were exposed who issued fictitious medical reports about serious illnesses and established disability. According to the investigation, the organizer was a former hospital official who involved a neurosurgeon and the head of the neurological department, who was a member of the military medical commission. Patients were hospitalized and groundless operations were performed to obtain the necessary conclusions.
In the Poltava region, a surgeon was exposed who groundlessly assigned a disability group to six conscripts, which allowed them to be removed from military registration. Another man was also detained who was selling certificates of unfitness for service through doctors he knew.
In the Lviv region, a serviceman was exposed who promised to arrange a reservation through a military medical institution, as well as a man who offered to help arrange guardianship over his mother for money to avoid conscription.
In the Cherkasy region, an organizer of the illegal transfer of conscripts to European Union countries was detained. He provided instructions on the route and remotely accompanied them during the transfer.
The suspects were informed of suspicion under a number of articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular, regarding obstruction of the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, illegal transfer of persons across the state border, evasion of mobilization and abuse of influence.
The sanctions of the incriminated articles provide for up to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
