The Ministry of Digital Transformation, together with the Ministry of Defense, are developing a mechanism that will restrict access to gambling for military personnel. The Ministry of Digital Transformation reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
“We continue the systematic fight against gambling addiction. Our goal is to protect military personnel and families from the risks and consequences of gambling addiction. To this end, together with the Ministry of Defense, we are preparing a mechanism that will restrict military personnel’s participation in gambling during martial law,” the message says.
It is noted that when entering the game, the user will be checked against the register of persons with restricted access to gambling and the register of military personnel. If the restriction is confirmed, access to the game is blocked.
Gambling organizers will not receive information about a person’s military affiliation, the ministry assured. The system will only transmit the fact of the existence of a restriction without data leakage and explanations.
The state agency “PlayCity”, which regulates the gambling market, is responsible for implementing the mechanism.
As reported, the state agency “PlayCity” blocked more than 2.5 thousand illegal online casino sites during 2025.
