The Skel regiment announced the cleansing of Minkovka in the Donetsk region from the Russian invaders, and now the village is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
This was reported in the 425 separate assault regiment “Rock,” informs the portal PromPolitInform.
The military say that the cleansing of Minkovka from the Russians thwarted the potential advance of the Russian Federation and stabilized the situation in the direction.
“The assault units of the Rock regiment conducted a swift and coordinated operation, as a result of which Minkovka was cleared – a key settlement on the Bakhmut-Slavyansk highway, from which the enemy could advance in the direction of the Slavic-Kramatorsk agglomeration,” the 425 separate assault regiment reported.
The regiment added that during the battle the attack aircraft released the position of the adjacent unit, deployed new observation posts and inflicted losses on the enemy: destroyed more than 40 soldiers of the Russian Federation.
Recall, on the eve, as stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky, the Russian army tried to break through the defense in several strategic directions at once, which is why fierce battles unfolded along the entire line of contact. Only from 17 to 20 march, Russia conducted 619 assault actions.
The Ministry of Defense also reported on the attempts of the Russians to go on the offensive. Only on March 17, the Armed Forces of Ukraine neutralized 1710 Russian military for a day – these are the largest losses of the invaders in 2026.
At the same time, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that in the Kharkiv region and in the border communities of Sumy region, attempts of the Russian troops to advance from the border are recorded. He assured that the Defense Forces are destroying Russian units that do this.
