Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov said that two million citizens are currently wanted in Ukraine, another 200,000 military personnel are in the status of the SZCH, writes The Independent, informs the PromPolitInform portal.
“I don’t want to be a populist, I want to be a realist. The Ministry of Defense falls into my hands with minus 300 billion, two million Ukrainians who are wanted, and 200 thousand in the SZCH,” Fedorov’s statement at the beginning of his appointment quotes the publication.

Ukraine faced serious difficulties in the field of conscription amid the war
The Independent writes about the deepening crisis of mobilization in Ukraine since then against the backdrop of a protracted war and an increase in the number of cases of evasion from service.
According to the data voiced by Fedorov, about 2 million citizens evade mobilization, and since 2022 about 290 thousand cases have been recorded on the facts of unauthorized leaving the service.
It is noted that the nature of the fighting has changed and moved into a protracted phase. Ukraine claims that its troops inflict more losses on the enemy than Russia has time to fill. At the same time, the military on the front line report fatigue and high load.
As follows from the publication, many citizens perceive the service as long-term participation without clear rotation terms.
One of the interlocutors of the publication noted that at the beginning of the war he voluntarily came to the military enlistment office, but later changed his attitude because of the problems he saw, including cases of an unequal approach to mobilization.
MP Oleksandr Merezhko said that the country has enough human resources to continue the war for a long time, but the key issue remains the issue of managing them and creating motivation.
