Russia is preparing to launch non-ferrous metal mining in Luhansk Oblast, launching preparatory work for the industrial development of copper and zinc deposits in the temporarily occupied territories of the region. As reported by the PromPolitInform portal, this was reported by the Center for National Resistance, which on April 5 published relevant data on the activities of the occupation administrations in the region.
According to the published data, geological services controlled by the occupiers have completed research on the Nagolny Ridge in the Rovenkiv district. Local residents of Miusynsk report damage to quartz rocks near the city, which indicates the intensification of preparatory work.
In January of this year, the Alchevskpromgroup company received licenses for the exploration and extraction of copper, zinc, gold and silver. In particular, work is underway at the Bobrykiv gold deposit, which until 2014 was under the control of the Australian company Korab Resources. After the occupation of the territories, the company lost access to its assets.
