Ukraine has joined the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations and two specialized commissions. Andriy Sybiga called this a recognition of the state’s authority in the UN.
Ukraine has just been elected to several key bodies of ECOSOC. As Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga reported, Ukraine will join the work of the UN Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations, as well as the UN Commission on Population and Development and the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development, UNN reports. “An important result for us at the UN: Ukraine has just been elected to several key bodies of ECOSOC. This is a clear recognition of our active role and authority in multilateral diplomacy,” Sybiga said.
The Foreign Minister added that Ukraine will join the work of the UN Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations, as well as the UN Commission on Population and Development and the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development.
“We are grateful to the ECOSOC member states for their valuable support. We stand ready to translate this mandate into practical results — strengthening cooperation and advancing key development priorities. Ukraine remains committed to principled and effective work within the UN,” Sybiga concluded.
