The State Special Transport Service of the Ministry of Defense (DSS) is determined by the customer to protect critical infrastructure.
It is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the relevant resolution, which amends the Procedure for the implementation of the experimental project on the protection of critical infrastructure.
According to the decision, the State Special Transport Service will perform the functions of the customer for new construction, reconstruction, overhaul, repair, as well as other engineering and technical measures to protect the infrastructure.
The action of the resolution covers the protection of strategically important objects in the following areas:
fuel and energy sector;
railway transport subsector (transport and post sectors);
critical infrastructure life support systems sector.
The adopted changes not only secure the status of the customer for the State Special Transport Service, but also provide the right to directly involve its units in the implementation of construction and repair work in the regions (on the basis of the relevant decision of the Ministry of Defense).
As noted, this decision will significantly optimize the processes of building protective structures, increase the efficiency of engineering work and guarantee reliable protection of objects on which the country’s livelihoods depend in war conditions.
The decision to determine the DRST by the customer of the work is a logical continuation of the strategy of the President of Ukraine to create a layered protection of critical infrastructure and the involvement of specialized military units in the operational restoration of strategic facilities.
Recall that the State Special Transport Service, on the instructions of the Ministry of Defense, is deploying more than 25 km of anti-drone structures on key routes of the Donetsk region.
