Ukraine, together with European countries, has launched a new coalition CORPUS, which should change the approach to defense procurement and make them more coherent and effective.
It is reported by RBC-Ukraine, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
The Coalition for Resilient Procurement and Unified Support (CORPUS) includes procurement agencies of Ukraine, Finland, Italy, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The parties signed the corresponding memorandum on April 30.
According to Artem Romanyukov, Director of the Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the new structure will become “an extensive system of procurement agencies of partner countries.”
“This will allow us to better plan purchases, form reliable supply chains, and identify weak links,” he said.
As part of this initiative, Ukraine will be able to share with partners the practical experience of providing troops received during a full-scale war, and those, in turn, will be able to access practical solutions that are already working in real conditions.
Director of the Defense Procurement Agency of Ukraine DOT Arsen Zhumadilov stressed that cooperation involves the exchange of both technologies and approaches to procurement management.

“This is the Dot-Chain system, within which we launched, in fact, quasi-market mechanisms for providing our troops. These are different systems for warehouse accounting, management accounting. The way these systems interact with each other, which is generally used,” he explained.
Zhumadilov will lead the coalition for the first year, after which the chairmanship will be transferred to other participants on a rotational basis.
Recall that in March, the Ministry of Defense changed the procurement procedure for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From now on, the DOT Defense Procurement Agency will use a diversification mechanism to purchase UAVs, NRCs and ammunition.
We also wrote that the Defense Procurement Agency has signed a record contract for the purchase of drones Mavic, Autel and Matrice, and solutions with artificial intelligence are also being prepared.
