The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine adopted a number of radical personnel decisions regarding the leadership of the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. As noted in the statement of the headquarters, after checking it turned out that the command of the brigade hid the real state of affairs at the front, which “led to the loss of certain positions and systemic problems with the provision of fighters on the front line,” informs the portal PromPolitInform.
Currently, the commander of the 14th Brigade has been removed from his post, the commander of the 10th Army Corps has been relieved of his post and appointed with a demotion. Colonel Taras Maksimov was appointed commander of the 14th Brigade, and Brigadier General Artem Bogomolov headed the 10th Army Corps.
The reason for checking the situation in the brigade was the publicity in social networks: the user i.petrovna published footage of exhausted fighters who remained in positions without food and water, were forced to drink rainwater and lost consciousness from hunger.
A comprehensive commission of the Ground Forces is conducting an audit. The materials of the internal investigation against the officials of the brigade will be transferred to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
The General Staff stressed: the situation is complicated by the fact that the Kupyansk region is under constant Russian air strikes on crossings across the Oskol River. Currently, logistics is provided using watercraft and heavy UAVs. The commander of the combined forces group, Major General Mikhail Drapaty, was tasked with personally checking the state of support for all units at the forefront.
The General Staff assured that the next cargo with food had already been delivered to the position mentioned in social networks. An immediate evacuation of these troops is also being prepared, subject to favorable security conditions.
