Metinvest Group has implemented a comprehensive veteran reintegration ecosystem, which includes psychological support, assistance to families, and professional adaptation. Thanks to this, about 80% of demobilized employees return to work after service, the company says. This is reported by Uaprom.info, according to the PromPolitInform portal.
As the company’s director for sustainable development and interaction with personnel, Tetiana Petruk, said, the scale of the program is also determined by the number of employees involved in the military: currently, more than 8 thousand company employees serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and in total, about 11 thousand specialists have this experience since 2014. About a thousand veterans have already returned to work at the company, and this process is ongoing.
The company emphasizes that reintegration is considered much more broadly than just employment. “A veteran returns not only to the workplace, but also to civilian life in general,” Petruk explained. That is why the key emphasis is placed on psychological support, preparing teams to accept colleagues after service, and creating a safe working environment.
Special attention is paid to military families, since, according to the company, the adaptation process is not only experienced by the veteran himself, but also by his loved ones. They are provided with consultations and access to social support.
An important part of the system is also professional adaptation. In cases where an employee cannot return to their previous position due to injuries or other circumstances, the company offers retraining, a change of career direction, and job adaptation. Flexible employment formats are also used.
According to the company representative, more than 10% of veterans employed by Metinvest had not previously worked for the group. This indicates that the reintegration program also performs the function of attracting new personnel in conditions of labor shortage.
As is known, Rinat Akhmetov’s Metinvest company became the winner of the international Brilliance Awards in the Corporate Wellness nomination – for the creation of a large-scale ecosystem for the reintegration of veterans and a program to support the military and their families.
