In Ukraine, create a new rocket Ruta Block, a range of 2000 km: who will produce

Destinus, in cooperation with Rheinmetall, is accelerating the development of a new long-range rocket Ruta Block 3, flight tests of which are planned in Ukraine for 2027. The project aims to create a sovereign European weapons system suitable for mass industrial production.

Plans for the development of the missile program were reported in the press service of Destinus, informs the PromPolitInform portal.

Evolution of the Ruta family of missiles and production facilities

The new development will be based on the architecture of the first version of the rocket – Ruta Block 1, which has already passed the stage of combat tests and is currently being mass-produced in the Netherlands. In parallel with this, the Ruta Block 2 version is already undergoing flight tests in Ukraine.

According to the developers, Ruta Block 3 should bring the architecture of the Ruta family to a new class of long-range systems. The program is designed to ensure the transition of the European military-industrial complex from limited stocks of high-precision weapons to its sustainable and large-scale production.

The Director General of Destinus Mikhail Kokorich stressed that in the new defensive era, the decisive factor is the ability to replenish and develop weapons on an industrial scale during long-term high-intensity operations.

“Ruta Block 3 is designed with this reality in mind: a sovereign European architecture, distributed industrial production and the possibility of rapid scaling in allied countries,” said Mikhail Kokorich.

Specifications and innovations

Ruta Block 3 will receive significant updates compared to previous versions, which will allow it to hit targets over long distances. The main parameters of the system include:

Range: up to 2 thousand kilometers.

Engine: a turbojet engine of the new generation Destinus T220 (enlarged version), which is currently under design.

Warhead: 250 kilograms.

Navigation: An advanced autonomous system for operating under degraded GNSS signal conditions, complemented by terminal guidance capabilities currently under development.

One of the key features of the rocket will be the use of a standard ISO container launch architecture. This will allow you to deploy the system on various platforms: land, sea, as well as stationary sites. This decision will contribute to the rapid scaling of production and deployment of missiles in allied countries.
