Oleksandr Usyk knocked out Verhoeven and dedicated the victory to the defenders of Ukraine

As reported by RBC-Ukraine — Lite: Oleksandr Usyk defeated Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven on the night of May 24, defending his heavyweight championship belts. The fight lasted 11 rounds, after which Usyk knocked down his opponent, which became the decisive moment in the fight. This victory was important not only from a sporting point of view, but also symbolic, since the boxer dedicated it to the Ukrainian defenders. The PromPolitInform portal informs.

Olexander’s wife, Kateryna, was present at the fight and congratulated her husband on his triumph. She expressed her feelings with the words:

Olexander and Kateryna got married in 2009 in Simferopol. The couple is raising four children: 16-year-old Elizaveta, 13-year-old Kirill, 11-year-old Mikhail, 2-year-old Maria.

After the start of full-scale war, Usyk’s sons went to Spain with their grandparents, while his daughter congratulated her father on his victory from hiding.
