Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov held a conversation with French Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Catherine Vautrin. He wrote about this in Telegram, according to the PromPolitInform portal.
The heads of defense departments discussed the priorities of cooperation to strengthen Ukrainian air defense and protect Ukrainian cities this year.
“One of the important areas of cooperation is accelerating the procurement of radars. They are a critically important component of air defense and increase the effectiveness of detecting air threats,” said Mykhailo Fedorov.
Special attention was also paid to Aster-30 missiles, which are one of the urgent priorities for strengthening Ukrainian air defense.
According to Mikhail Fedorov, the development of cooperation to strengthen Ukraine’s anti-ballistic defense and the prospects for localizing the production of French weapons in Ukraine and implementing joint defense-industrial projects were also discussed.
“I am grateful to France for its leadership, consistent support for Ukraine, willingness to work on solutions that strengthen our defense, as well as for its principled position on countering the Russian shadow fleet, which continues to finance the war,” Mikhail Fedorov noted.
