The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development plans to conclude a package of new agreements with Ukraine this week with a total value of more than €500 million. The government reported this, emphasizing that the agreements will cover key areas of the country’s recovery and modernization. This is reported by “Pershy Business“, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
According to preliminary information, part of the funding will be directed at strengthening the energy system, which has suffered significant damage due to Russian attacks. This includes the modernization of networks, restoration of generating capacities and increasing the resilience of critical infrastructure before the next autumn-winter period.
Individual projects will concern the development of transport infrastructure, support for municipal enterprises and expansion of programs for small and medium-sized businesses. The government emphasizes that cooperation with the EBRD remains one of the most important sources of long-term investments, and the new package of agreements should accelerate the implementation of priority reconstruction programs.
We remind you that the signing of such projects in the middle of the year is a positive signal for international partners and may stimulate additional investments from other financial institutions. The EBRD has remained the largest institutional investor in Ukraine for several years in a row, and the new agreements only strengthen this trend.
