The President announced the preparation of decisions to strengthen key areas, in particular in the Donetsk region.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed important military issues with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty, Yevhen Khmara and Ihor Skybyuk, in particular, regarding changes regarding the front. As reported by the PromPolitInform portal, the head of state announced this on the social network.
“Some of the decisions have already been prepared, there will be more decisions. We discussed the situation on the front in detail – measures to strengthen key areas, and in particular in the Donetsk region. We agreed on what steps can give our troops more operational capabilities,” the president said.
Zelensky added that during the meeting, the implementation of the long-range sanctions plan against Russia, as well as middle strikes, was also discussed.
“Some of the operations were adjusted, and new operations were approved. Ukrainian accuracy is what allows us not to give the initiative in the war to the Russians and to count on the possibility of approaching diplomatic solutions,” he noted.
It should be noted that among the targets of long-range sanctions were the facilities of the Russian fuel and energy complex. In June, the Azot plant in the Tula region and other oil facilities, the distance to which exceeds 700 km, were hit.
The president said that such operations should reduce the resources that work for the Russian military machine. Also in August, air defense systems in the Russian Federation were destroyed, which should create conditions for further operations deep inside Russia. The purpose of these operations is to increase the price of continuing the war for the Russian economy and create an additional incentive for Moscow to move to a diplomatic settlement.
