As of August 11, farmers in all regions have already threshed 5.63 million hectares, or 49% of the projected areas, and harvested 26.13 million tons of grain of the new harvest. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the PromPolitInform portal informs.
In particular:
wheat – 4,066.2 thousand hectares were threshed, 19.74 million tons were harvested with an average yield of 48.5 centners/hectare;
barley – 1,287.2 thousand hectares, 5.68 million tons were harvested at a yield of 44.1 centners/hectare;
peas – 276.9 thousand hectares, 712.3 thousand tons were harvested at a yield of 25.7 centners/hectare.
In terms of the volume of early grain and leguminous crops, farmers in Odessa, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv regions are currently leading. In particular:
Odesa region – 4,058.2 thousand tons from an area of 960.5 thousand hectares (wheat – 2,532.3 thousand tons, barley – 1,284.8 thousand tons, peas – 241.1 thousand tons);
Kirovohrad region – 2,329.4 thousand tons from an area of 536.5 thousand hectares (wheat – 1,839.3 thousand tons, barley – 408.1 thousand tons, peas – 82.0 thousand tons);
Mykolaiv region – 2,326.1 thousand tons from an area of 653.8 thousand hectares (wheat – 1,631.8 thousand tons, barley – 587.5 thousand tons, peas – 106.8 thousand tons).
The highest grain yield is currently recorded in Khmelnytskyi (69.6 c/ha), Ternopil (61.9 c/ha) and Vinnytsia (59.7 c/ha) regions.
In addition, rapeseed harvesting is underway. To date, 1,190.7 thousand hectares have been threshed, 3.22 million tons of seeds have been harvested with an average yield of 27.1 centners/hectare.
