In July 2026, the Defence Forces of Ukraine increased the volume of unmanned and robotic systems usage on the battlefield. Specifically, unmanned systems units completed 449 thousand missions, exceeding June performance.
This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian military continues to expand the scale of unmanned and robotic solutions application for both combat operations and logistics support.
During the second month of summer, unmanned systems units completed 449 thousand missions, showing a 3% increase compared to the first month of summer. Due to these actions, 226 thousand enemy targets were hit, reflecting a 13% growth in efficiency.
Dynamics of Ground Platforms and FPV Drones Utilisation
The segment of ground robotic complexes demonstrated a significant increase in intensity. In July, such systems were involved in completing missions over 23.7 thousand times, which is 41% more than in June.
The leadership of the Ukrainian military also remains in the sector of FPV drone usage. Over the month, units completed 376 thousand such flights, improving the June result by 6%. Currently, the ratio of FPV drone application stands at 1.6 to 1 in favour of Ukraine against enemy forces.
Main Goal of Technological Development on the Battlefield
The deployment of unmanned technologies is primarily aimed at preserving the lives of military personnel. Increasing the share of missions performed remotely minimises the presence of soldiers in direct contact areas with the enemy.
Work on developing this direction, integrating new technological developments, and scaling the use of existing capabilities will continue in the future.
