Certain categories of pensioners in Ukraine in 2026 can receive a monthly pension supplement ranging from 35 to 40 percent. Additional payments are provided for parents with many children in accordance with the Law of Ukraine On Pensions for Special Merits to Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Олена Чупровська) citing Pensiinyi Fond U Ternopilskii Oblasti, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Certain categories of pensioners in Ukraine can receive a pension supplement of 35-40 percent without annual indexation. The procedure for assigning such payments is determined by the Law of Ukraine On Pensions for Special Merits to Ukraine.
The main applicants for the supplement are mothers with many children who have given birth to or adopted and raised at least five children to the age of six. In cases provided by law, such support can also be assigned to the father if he was the one raising the children.
When determining the right to the payment, adopted children are also taken into account. The supplement is charged in addition to the main pension regardless of its type.
The amount of the supplement depends on the number of raised children and the subsistence level
The amount of the additional payment directly depends on the number of children and the current subsistence level for disabled persons. In 2026, this figure is 2,595 hryvnias.
For parents who have raised five children, the supplement is 35 percent, which equals 908 hryvnias per month. For each subsequent child, the amount gradually increases up to 40 percent.
For ten or more children, the payment is 40 percent, or 1,038 hryvnias. Since the payment is tied to the subsistence level, when it is reviewed, the amount of the supplement is recalculated automatically.
Features of calculating payments after the death of a pensioner
In cases provided by law, this supplement can be taken into account when assigning a pension in connection with the loss of a breadwinner. If one incapacitated family member has the right to such a pension, they are additionally charged 70 percent of the deceased pensioner’s supplement. If there are two or more such family members, 90 percent of the respective amount is taken into account.
