This year, more than 1 billion hryvnias of tax debt have been returned to the state budget thanks to a special automated system. The mechanism covered the accounts of 27.9 thousand taxpayers. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the State Tax Service of Ukraine.

The application of the mechanism made it possible to increase revenues by 651.1 million hryvnias compared to the same period last year, and efficiency grew almost threefold.

This creates equal and fair conditions for all market participants, since companies that have not paid contributions for years find themselves on the same terms as those who fulfill their obligations on time, — noted Lesia Karnaukh.

The collection algorithm works without human involvement

The software was launched in August 2025 and ensures the write-off of funds from the accounts of debtor enterprises without red tape. The procedure covers exclusively legal entities that have officially agreed arrears.

Every day, information databases generate data on the debt, create a payment instruction, and sign it with an electronic signature. The document is sent to the State Treasury Service of Ukraine and then transferred to banking institutions via the electronic payment system.

Prerequisites for automatic funds transfer

The process is not applied suddenly, as the company is first given time for voluntary payment. If the declared amounts are not received within 90 days, collection is carried out in accordance with the Tax Code of Ukraine without applying to court.

The payer’s ability to independently repay the debt remains until the moment the payment instruction is activated. The new format became possible thanks to the agency’s digital interaction with the Treasury and financial service providers.
