The State Bureau of Investigation detained a senior lieutenant of a district TCK and JV in Ivano-Frankivsk region who, while intoxicated, beat a soldier during the performance of his duties. The injured serviceman from Lviv required surgery due to a severe injury. This was reported by DBR, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The injured 45-year-old serviceman was hospitalized on the morning of August 13 with a severe shoulder injury. During questioning, he stated that the physical injuries were inflicted on him by the deputy company commander directly inside the premises of the district recruitment center.

According to the investigation, the suspect arrived at the military facility at night while intoxicated and decided to use physical force against a soldier who was on duty. This resulted in a closed rupture of the left acromioclavicular joint, which required the fighter to undergo surgery.
Department employees conducted an examination of the suspect, which recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.69 ppm. The facts of the beating and the perpetrator’s intoxication were also confirmed by witnesses and materials from investigative experiments.
The suspect was served a notice of suspicion and custody is being sought
Investigators informed the detainee of the suspicion of exceeding official authority or official powers by a military official under martial law pursuant to Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction provides for punishment of up to 12 years of imprisonment.
Currently, investigative agencies have appealed to the court with a motion to remand the suspect in custody for the period of pre-trial investigation. Procedural guidance in the proceedings is provided by the Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office of the Western Region.
