A consolidated detachment of the SESU of Ukraine, consisting of 70 specialists and 15 units of equipment, returned from France after two weeks of involvement in fighting forest fires. This is the first such mission of the Ukrainian service under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Ivan Vyhivskyi.

For fourteen days, Ukrainian rescuers patrolled forest areas and promptly identified smoldering sites using unmanned aerial vehicles. Joint work was carried out in coordination with specialists from France and Slovakia to prevent the spread of fire.

Experience in wartime conditions

During the tasks, Ukrainian specialists shared skills acquired while responding to the consequences of Russian shelling. Participation in this operation became an opportunity for the SESU of Ukraine to demonstrate a high level of professional training and efficiency at the international level.

International recognition of professionalism

The actions of the unit received positive feedback from the government of the French Republic and the local population. The experience gained during the mission will contribute to further strengthening cooperation within the European security system.
