The Armed Forces of Ukraine congratulated Poland on Polish Armed Forces Day on August 15, 2026, recalling the joint struggle against Moscow imperialism. The General Staff of the ZSU expressed gratitude for systematic military assistance and support in international security initiatives. This was reported by Ukrinform, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
A solemn appeal on the occasion of the national holiday appeared on the official resources of the Ukrainian military department. The agency recalled that the date is dedicated to the victory in the Battle of Warsaw in 1920, when Polish troops together with units of the UNR Army stopped the Bolshevik offensive.
Joint counteraction to the aggressor continues at the front
The military leadership of Ukraine noted the long-term systematic support from the Republic of Poland, which has been provided since 2014 and scaled up after February 24, 2022. Particular attention was drawn to the partners’ leadership in the Ramstein format, the LITPOLUKRBRIG brigade, the EUMAM Ukraine mission, the NSATU initiative, and the JATEC center.
Partnership strengthens integration into Euro-Atlantic structures
The General Staff emphasized the importance of the LEGIO operation, the training of Ukrainian military units, and established logistical work. «This interaction brings full interoperability between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the armies of NATO and the EU closer», the General Staff noted.
Also, representatives of the Ukrainian army command thanked the Polish people for shelter for refugees. Separately, tribute was paid to the memory of Polish volunteers and citizens of Ukraine of Polish origin who died in battles for freedom.
