Consumer demand for power equipment is growing as winter preparations continue

Between August 3 and August 9, sales of power banks at Epitsentr K retail chain increased by 44%, and power stations by 28%. Despite this, there have been no signs of panic-buying or excessive consumer anxiety.

This was reported by Economichna Pravda citing Epitsentr K, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

There have been no global shifts in consumer behavior following the recent Russian strikes on energy infrastructure. Network analysts note that preparations for the heating season are proceeding steadily, and interest in specific product categories remains localized.

Features of energy independence demand

In the food segment, there is a minor increase in interest regarding long-term storage goods, such as grains, canned food, and flour. However, the backup power device segment is growing most dynamically, as buyers prioritize mobile and high-capacity models.

Among power banks, the most sought-after devices are those with a capacity of 20,000–30,000 mAh, which account for nearly 50% of sales. In the power station category, units with a capacity exceeding 2,000 Wh are leading, while demand for uninterruptible power supplies has surged by 263% compared to the previous year.

Interest from small and medium-sized businesses

Sales of integrated backup power systems based on batteries and hybrid inverters with a capacity of 5 kW or more increased by 120% compared to the previous year. Due to the significant cost of this equipment, the primary demand in this segment is driven by small and medium-sized businesses utilizing non-cash transactions.
