The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution simplifying export procedures for domestically produced vehicles. Companies will now be able to export their products abroad without prior full registration in Ukraine. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Bohdan Drap’iatyi, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Previously, domestic manufacturers were required to register manufactured vehicles in Ukraine and then de-register them before shipping to the customer. Since unregistered cars are prohibited from using public roads, this process resulted in the loss of the new vehicle’s status, which complicated the fulfillment of export contracts.
New rules for exporters
The mechanism introduced by the government provides for temporary registration of export-bound vehicles. Companies will receive license plates for single trips and a registration certificate valid for one month with a corresponding mark.
“Such a certificate only confirms that the vehicle has been placed under temporary registration for the purpose of its export by the manufacturer and is not a document confirming state registration of the vehicle,” explained Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Bohdan Drapiatyi. The use of this simplified mechanism allows vehicles to be transported across the territory of Ukraine and other states without additional bureaucratic hurdles.
Registration of property under use
Additionally, the adopted resolution regulates state registration of vehicles that are under state or municipal ownership and transferred for use under the right of usufruct. This allows for the legalization of the re-registration of property transferred for use without the right of alienation.
